Lawyers go on strike against govt statements.

PESHAWAR -- The lawyers observed a strike across the province on Thursday against the statements of the federal government functionaries, including attorney general for Pakistan and director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations, over the conviction of former military ruler retired General Pervez Musharraf in a high treason case by a special court.

On the call of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, lawyers stayed away from the courts, including the Peshawar High Court.

As the lawyers didn't show up, the courts adjourned hearings in scores of cases fixed for Thursday.
