Lawyers boycott court proceedings over murder of Latif Afridi.

KARACHI -- Lawyers on Tuesday boycotted court proceedings in several districts of Sindh including Larkana and Mirpurkhas over the recent murder of a senior lawyer, Latif Afridi, in Peshawar.

In Karachi, lawyers stayed away from proceedings at the Sindh High Court, City Courts and Malir District Courts as well as special courts and tribunals.

The lawyers absence led to adjournment of hundreds of cases both at the superior and subordinate courts.

Besides, the jail police did not bring undertrial prisoners for their production in courts in the wake of the protest call given by the lawyers.
