Law facilitating movement of ambulances discussed.

KARACHI -- The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the government of Sindh and the Szabist Law School hosted a dissemination event about ICRC's campaign 'Saving Lives' in Pakistan to spread awareness of the enactment of The Provincial Motor Vehicles (AmendAment) Act, 2018 at the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) Hall at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) here on Monday.

The legislation added amendments to the law to provide for a proper legal framework addressing and regulating the traffic system in Sindh in order to avoid unnecessary delays or obstructions for ambulances in emergency situations.

Relevant stakeholders from major hospitals, ambulance service, traffic police representatives and academics attended the session in order to properly address the grievances that this act aims to eradicate and to formally publicise the enactment of this legislation.
