Land dispute claims two lives in Battagram.

BATTAGRAM -- A man and a woman were killed when rival groups clashed over a land dispute in Donga Shamlai area of Battagram district on Friday evening.

According to a Battagram police station official, rivals opened fire on their cousins when they were busy in construction of their house over a land dispute. The firing resulted in the death of a woman and a man on the spot. Another man got serious injuries.

The deceased were identified as Musa and Khatam Bibi.

Police shifted the bodies and the injured to the DHQ hospital.

Police registered FIR against the assailants.

VIRUS INFECTS JOURNALIST: A journalist working with a private TV channel tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.

The infected journalist told Dawn that he had met a suspected person, who later tested positive for the virus. He said afterwards he also got his test done, which came out positive.

However, the journalist said he was not having any symptoms, but had a mild flu. He asked the people who met him in last few days to place them in quarantine and have tests done.

The journalist isolated himself at home.
