Lakki traders promise to implement SOPs for containing virus.

LAKKI MARWAT -- Traders here have promised to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines the government has issued to contain spread of coronavirus.

Presiding over a meeting in the tehsil building here on Thursday, assistant commissioner Nadir Shahzad told the traders that they were bound to follow the SOPs as per the provincial government's notification.

He said that opening of shops and businesses was subject to implementation of Covid-19 precautionary measures, including social distancing protocol by the traders.

'The district administration will have no option but to close down shops if the relevant SOPs are not implemented,' he said. He asked the traders not to allow more than four people enter their outlets at a time.

'The shopkeepers should make social distancing marks outside their business outlets to enable customers to wait for their turn,' he said and asked the traders to wear masks at their outlets.

The traders said that opening of business centres would help to end unemployment and boost socioeconomic activities. They assured the administration that they would implement all the relevant SOPs.
