LAC, private group stage play at Alhamra.

LAHORE -- The Lahore Arts Council, in collaboration with The Fiasco Theatre Company, staged a play - Gustakhi Maaf - at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Saturday.

The theatrical production was an effort for the revival and promotion of theatre. A good number of theatre lovers came to watch the play on its second day.

Directed by Usman Khan and produced by Abdullah Mian Afzal, the play highlighted human history and evolution.

On the occasion, Usman and Abdullah said such plays provided inspiration to the people, especially the younger generation.

LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan said it was a wonderful effort by the council for the promotion and revival of the golden period of theatre.

'Alhamra arranges such events on a regular basis to provide quality entertainment to the people of Lahore,' he said. He added such dramas would help create awareness about classic theatre.

On Sunday (today), there will be the last performance of the play at Alhamra.

Exhibition: An exhibition of paintings, titled Enclosed Feelings, by Janisar Ali opened at Oyster Art Gallery, MM Alam Road, on Saturday.

It is second solo exhibition of the artist who has participated in many group shows.
