KSE-100 index up by 897 points.

Karachi -- KSE-100 index of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) climbed up by 897 points on Monday owing to improved sentiments on economic front, PM's China visit.

The index closed at 41,453 points as against 40,556 points showing an increase of 872 points

Sectors contributing to the increase include Banks (+312 points), Cement (+142 points), O and amp;GMCs (+98 points), Power (+72 points) and E and amp;P (+36 points).

Analysts at Arif Habib Limited said that today's volume of 460 million shares at the bourse rank second after May 24, 2017.

Market maintained its ascent on the first trading day, all courtesy of improved sentiment from successful Saudi Arabia visit and impending visits to Malaysia and China.
