KP coronavirus fatalities top 800.

PESHAWAR -- Death toll from Covid-19 reached 808 in the province on Saturday after 19 more patients breathed their last amid the Young Doctors Association`s call for protection of medics against violence.

Of the new fatalities, four each were reported in Peshawar and Bajaur districts, three in Swat, two each in Malakand and Mardan and one each in Charsadda, Mardan, Abbottabad and Kohat,said a health department report.

According to the report, the province recorded 654 more Covid-19 cases, which took its number of patients to 21,444.

Recoveries from coronavirus totalled 6,063 after 440 more patients tested negative for it.

The number of Covid-19 deaths and cases in Peshawar reached 390 and 7,372 respectively.

Peshawar is atop the list of deaths and patients in the province fol-lowed by Swat, which has recorde d 79 fatalities and 2,093 cases.

Meanwhile, the YDA has expressed concern over the harassment of doctors at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, on Friday and demanded immediate measures to prevent such incidents.
