Kiln workers rally demands officially-fixed wage.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Scores of brick kiln workers with their families took out a rally for the acceptance of their demands here on Friday.

The rally that started from Gojra Road municipal octroi post was led by Punjab Bhatta Mazdoor Union Secretary General Muhammad Shabbir and local leaders of the body.

The participants carrying red flags and banners inscribed with their demands chanted slogans against labour welfare department officials for allegedly siding with kiln owners instead of redressing their complaints.

At Shahbaz Chowk the rally participants were addressed by their leaders, including Ms Sajida Parveen, Ashfaq, Nawab and Nasir Iqbal who demanded the district administration to implement the Punjab government's notification issued on July 1, 2021 under which kiln owners were bound to pay...
