KE's Public Safety Drive Against Encroachment on its Power Infrastructure.

KARACHI -- To ensure safety and well-being of the citizens and for reliable power supply throughout the city, K-Electric is removing kundas and other hazardous material such as illegal streetlight switches encroached on its infrastructure. During the operation, the power utility successfully removed more than 175 illegal hooks from Gulshan, Nazimabad and North Nazimabad areas. Also, 145 illegal streetlights switches and attached unsafe wires were removed from the areas of 13A, 13D, 13G in Gulshan, Five-Star Chorangi in North Nazimabad and Gulberg, Qureshi Colony areas in Nazimabad. An illegal network powering several hazardous hooks being run by a few generator shops was also dismantled with the help of law enforcement agencies in Firdous Colony, Nazimabad. During the drive, several illegal internal and TV cables were removed from 18 PMTs and 96 poles of the power utility.
