Kashmiris to observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day today.

SRINAGAR -- Kashmiris living on both sides of Line of Control (LoC) and rest of the world would observe Indian Republic Day as Black Day today (Sunday) to invite the attention of international community towards the continued, unlawful and forced Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, depriving Kashmiris of their internationally-recognized right of self-determination for the last 73 years.

They observe January 26 as black day every year to mark strong indignation and protest against the continued long Indian subjugation of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Kashmiris throughout the world mark the Indian Republic Day as black day to protest and inform the world of the continued brutalities, massive human rights violations and custodial killing by the Indian occupying forces in the occupied territory.

This year, Kashmiris are observing the Indian Republic Day as black day at the time when Indian BJP government by violating all international norms and commitments scrapped special status of the internationally-acknowledged disputed territory and usurped the fundamental rights of the citizens through massive deployment of its military and paramilitary forces and prolonged curfew and communication blackout.
