THIS refers to a report by a Washington-based think tank, Carnegie Tsinghua Centre for Global Policy. The author of the report, Daniel Markey, has pointed out the deepening hostility between Pakistan and India over the only source of tension - the 70 years old dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.

Although Pakistan agreed to Indian contention that Kashmir is a bilateral dispute between the two and should be resolved through bilateral negotiations, we have not seen any progress on this issue. Instead, India is continuously using delaying tactics to avoid negotiations on the Kashmir issue.

After the abrogation of Article 370, and unilaterally changing the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir, India has become more hostile.
