Kashmir can't be ignored in negotiation process with India: Interior Minister.

ISLAMABAD -- Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that the government's nominee for the Senate seat from Islamabad, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, will win the election.

'Abdul Hafeez uplifted Pakistan's declining economy since he took the office,' Sheikh Rashid said as he addressed a press conference here on Sunday.

He said Sheikh went to the best universities of the world, including Oxford and Cambridge, and earned a doctorate degree in economics. He said Abdul Hafeez Sheikh converted a 20 billion dollar current account deficit to surplus through his efforts and supported Pakistan's declining economy.

It is to mention here that the PTI has given Hafeez Sheikh a ticket for Islamabad's general seat in the Senate election. PML-N's spokesman, Muhammad Zubair had cast aspersions on the PTI's choice for the Senate seats some days back.

Answering a question, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed rejected any kind of differences among the PTI ranks.

He said Pakistan's improved relations with several countries of the world shows the country is progressing under PM Imran Khan's leadership.

To a question, he said Hamza Shehbaz's release from prison will not make a difference to the PTI.
