Qamardin's wedding was only a month from the day he was brutally murdered. The 23-year-old young man owned a sweetmeat shop and was being harrassed by extortionists to pay Rs25,000. He decided not to give in and stand up to the extortionists. He paid with his life for his act of bravery.

A report was lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Thul's A-section police station. However, even after four months of the murder, the culprits have not been apprehended.
