Junior officer continues to hold onto MS post in violation of court orders.

HYDERABAD -- A junior medical officer (BS-19) continue to hold onto the office of medical superintendent (MS) of a government women's hospital in spite of the fact that her notification of posting was suspended by Sindh High Court's Hyderabad circuit bench on Dec 24 in a petition filed by her senior Dr Shaista Shah, who was a BS-20 officer.

The post of MS seemed to have become a musical chair for health officers and the controversy also led to cancellation of tender process for procurement of medicines on Monday in the hospital being the only women hospital in public sector deals in maternity cases.

Dr Farzana Tabasum in her correspondence with the director general of Sindh Health Services on Dec 28 went on to claim that in compliance of the court order undersigned (Dr Farzana) continued to work as MS of the CDF Hospital.

The Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench while deciding a petition of Dr Shaista Shah, who being an BS-20 officer had challenged a Nov 12 notification whereby Dr Shah was posted as chief superintendent medical officer (BS-20) Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Hyderabad (after having been transferred as MS of the CDF Hospital) and Dr Farzana Tabassum was allowed to continue in her place through a Sindh government notification.

Dr Shah prayed in her petition that the respondents be restrained from relieving her and the Nov 12 notification for posting Dr Farzana as MS in her place be suspended.
