JOURNALISM is a noble and dangerous profession. Pakistan is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists, where more than 72 have been killed since 2002.

We have read cases where journalists have been threatened or kidnapped and tortured because of stories they have worked on and investigated.

I was reading a report by the Pakistan Press Foundation which claimed that the last two years had been the worst for our country's journalists as many of them were also targeted in smear campaigns online - one journalist even ended up in court!
