Jirga resolves Malam Jabba land dispute.

SWAT -- The Malam Jabba residents on Friday promised to work for the promotion of tourism in the valley after a jirga resolved the three-year-old dispute between them and a tourism company here.

Both parties had been in litigation over the possession of the Green Valley. They also agreed to withdraw court cases against each other.

Their representatives and local elders, including Wasifzada, Saddam Hussain, Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Ali, Tahir Khan, Mohammad Razaq and others, held the meeting.

They said the dispute harmed tourism in the region to a great extent.

The jirga facilitated the signing of an agreement by both parties, which promised to jointly work for the promotion of tourism in the area.

A committee consisting of elders, tourism activists and local elders and tourism firm was formed to resolve future conflict.
