JI threatens to hold protest at D-Chowk over PSM privatisation.

KARACHl -- Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) vice president Liaquat Baloch on Sunday urged the federal government to immediately withdraw its decision to privatise the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM).

Speaking during a conference titled `Save Pakistan Steel Mills` at the party`s headquarters, Liaquat Baloch said that if the decision was not withdrawn, his party along with the PSM employees` unions would stage a protest demonstration at D-Chowk in Islamabad.

He said that the government should also explain as to why it had given billions of rupees to sugar industry, flour mills and K-Electric on account of subsidies.
