JI demands lifting of restrictions on prayers.

LAHORE -- The government should immediately lift restrictions on big gatherings in mosques on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, demands Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General Amirul Azeem.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Thursday, he said it was unfortunate that the government was targeting only the mosques regarding the SOPs while there were no curbs on the offices, factories, markets and shops in this respect.

Azeem said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had been talking of the State of Medina but was working in the opposite direction.

He said that no body from the government took notice of the rush in markets and streets. 'Was there no possibility of the spread of corona at these places, he asked. Why only the mosques and madressahs were being targeted.'
