JI calls for general election across the country in one go.

LAHORE -- Instead of only two provinces, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq has suggested that the general election should be held throughout the country after a dialogue among the political forces to develop a consensus.

He stated this during a meeting of the JI central working committee (Majlis-e-Aamla) at Mansoorah on Monday that demanded a transparent enquiry into the electricity breakdown, which kept the millions of people without electricity for the whole day.

'The caretaker setups should be formed at the centre and the provinces and elections should be held in the entire country at the same time,' he suggested while presiding over the meeting.

The meeting attended by JI leaders Liaqat Baloch, Ameerul Azim, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman and others discussed the national political and economic situation and held the Pakistan Democratic Movement, PPP and PTI equally responsible for the prevailing crises. They called for...
