Jadidi Education Reform Movement of Uzbekistan.

Jadidi movement played a significant role in reforms of education in Central Asia. It played role in National Liberation movement at the start of 20 th Century.

It was a movement for modernization of Education system in Central Asia. Jadidism is a movement of reforms among the Muslims intellectuals of Central Asia, mainly among Uzbek and Tajiks and Tatars communities of Central Asia.

Jadidism was first associated with Educational reforms but soon elements of Pan-Nationalism, Pan-Tatarism, Pan-Turkism and Pan Islamism appeared. According to them existing education system cannot bring any change in the social, economic and political conditions of Central Asian Society.

Thus, Jadidis decided to write Schools text books, founded Newspapers and spreading awareness about education system. Ismail Gaspirili introduced a new technique of phonetics for learning of languages in one year.

The teacher of Jadid School calls themselves Muslim and it was a drastic change and the role of teacher also changed. The Jadidism focused and paid Special attention on the Ethics and morality of the Students.

Jadidis Published several Books concerned with the development of character and personality.

Jadidism is a movement of reforms among the Muslims intellectuals of Central Asia, mainly among Uzbek and Tajiks and Tatars communities of Central Asia. It was an Islamic reformative movement of late 18 th and 19 th Century in Central Asia.

It took its name from Asul-e-Jadid (new methods) which was applied to Modern Schools that advocated by the reformers in the place of old (Qadim) Schools. The Traditional Maktabs and Madrasa, Jdidis used for reformer while Qadaimis for Conservatives.

Jadid were young's in their thoughts and approaches energetic and looked to the Future While on the other Hand Qadimi (Traditionalists) were older in thoughts and outlooks. The Jadidi Movement begin in Volga Tatars in 1880 by Ismail Bey Gasprali (18511914).

He was the founder of new methods school in Bakhchisaray Tatar and editor of reformative Newspaper Terjuman beginning in 1883.Jadidis were inspired by Political movement in the Muslims world, ant colonial Struggle in India, the Constitutional movement in Persia (1905-1911) and above all the Young Turk Movement in Ottoman Empire.

Jadidism was first associated with Educational reforms but soon elements of Pan-Nationalism, PanTatarism, Pan_Turkism and Pan Islamism appeared. Jadidi faced several threats at Political Status Quo and Social Status Quo in Central Asian Society.

Most important and well known Jadids were;

1:- Mahmud Khoja Behbudi (18741919) ,writer and Educator

2:- Munawar Qari (1878-1931) ,Journalist and Lawyer

3:- Ubaydullah Khojaevo 918861942) ,Scientist and writer

4:- Abdul Rauf Fitrat (1886-1938) ,Poet and Current Affairs Commentator

5:- Ahmad Makhdoom Donish (1827-1897), Progressive Thinker, Philosopher

So, Jadid, Usul-e-Jadid "New Method" movement for Educational reforms in order to educate the Muslims with the Modern education, skills and Science. The Followers of this movement were known as Jadidi and their Ideology as Jadidism.

Qadimi/Traditional System of Education:-

Central Asia was a traditional Society. There were Qadimi/ Traditional thoughts in Central Asian Society. In Central Asia here were two types of the schools
