It's dictatorship as PM doesn't consult cabinet: JI.

LAHORE -- Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq says the parliament is almost non-functional and there's a sort of dictatorship as Prime Minister Imran Khan makes decisions even without consulting his cabinet members.

Addressing the opening session of the party's Shoora (executive council) here on Friday, he said the 'bad governance' and 'ill-planned' economic policies had made even the supporters of the PTI desperate and hopeless.

The three-day Shoora meeting would conclude on Sunday. It will discuss at length national political situation, Kashmir and organisational matters of the party.

'The Senate has not met for four months while the National Assembly session is occasionally held only for 10 minutes which is a joke with the people who sent their representatives to the parliament,' said Mr Haq.

He added the PM's claims of ending corruption and starting a ruthless across-the-board accountability had also proved to be a pack of lies. He said the prime minister had made repeated references to the effective justice system and transparent accountability in the developed nations but he himself included the people in his party and the government team who had tainted images. He said the ruling party had deceived the masses with the slogan of 'Naya Pakistan'.
