Iqbal Day at Alhamra.

LAHORE -- To honour the great poet and thinker Dr Muhammad Iqbal, the Lahore Arts Council and the Metropolitan Corporation held a single-day festival called 'Jashan-i-Khudi' on Wednesday.

The chief guests included Commissioner Muhammad Amir Jan and Secretary of Information and Culture Asif Bilal Lodhi. Lights illuminated the Alhamra. The Alhamra lawns were used for the event. Nadeem Jameel Qawal's qawali kicked off the evening. In the qawali chorus, he sung Iqbal's poems. On the lawn-mounted screens, the audience earlier watched the cricket match between Pakistan and New Zealand.
