IPC ministry extends support to PHF with full trust.

KARACHI -- The Standing Committee of Senate for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division has asked the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for suggestions to bring the National game back on the track. The Senator Salahuddin Tirmizi said PHF should be provided facilities first and then to be asked to results. The meeting was led by the Chairman Sardar Yaqoob Nasir, where the President PHF Brig. (Retd.) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar while briefing the committee told, 'There are no good grounds in the country. There are 24 astroturf in Pakistan out of which only 13 are in good condition.'

'If we compare it to the other nation, the capital of Netherlands, Amsterdam alone has 500 astroturfs. We don't have any structure except Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), ' he said. He also informed that the previous secretary of IPC told the federation that it will be good to see if your team wins the tournament without resources. The IPC Ministry told that committee that in the last five years, PHF have been granted with 520 million rupees, on which the PHF president answered, 'In my last three year tenure the team has made 28 international tours.'
