International Initiatives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Regional and Global Successes.

Introduction

Kazakhstan, being the first Central Asian state elected to the UN Security Council, during its chairmanship continued actively promoting the interests of all states of our region. From January 1, 2018, during the month the delegation of Kazakhstan led the work of the main UN body, and then worked as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a year. The country pursued a fully independent policy on all issues on the agenda and sought to make a constructive contribution to the work of the Council according to the main priorities of activities within the UN Security Council Our membership was carried out in accordance with the priorities set forth in the Political Address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the UN Security Council called "The Conceptual Vision of Kazakhstan for Strengthening the Global Partnership for Building a Safe, Fair and Prosperous World".

These priorities include current issues such as:

1. Stability and sustainable development in Afghanistan and Central Asia

2. Creation of the Global Anti-Terrorist Coalition

3. Settlement the conflict in Syria

4. Strengthening the global nonproliferation regime

5. Call for world powers to find peaceful solutions to international problems

   We view our membership in the UN Security Council, above all, as a huge responsibility to the world community. Our country pursued a fully independent policy on all issues on the agenda and sought to make a constructive contribution to the work of the Council "The main priorities of our activities within the framework of the UN Security CouncilA>>. Overall, Kazakhstan has impartially, openly and transparently presided over the UN Security Council, focusing on practical results and striving to make a constructive contribution to the Council on all issues on the agenda.

   Taking into account involvement in many global and regional processes, its proactive stand in mediation and confidence building, Kazakhstan will continue to act as an honest broker, known for its effective balanced approach and neutrality to all international actors, states and organizations as part of multilateral diplomacy.

   The success of the events initiated by the Kazakh delegation during its presidency and the adoption of outcome documents demonstrated negotiation skills and relevance of the peacekeeping potential of our country, constructive approaches to the biggest challenges of today's world, and was due to the credibility of Kazakhstan and its President.
