Injured Tank SHO breathes his last.

TANK -- The Gomal police station SHO Inayatullah, who was injured in a hand grenade attack here last week, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday.

The SHO was injured when a suspected terrorist detonated a hand grenade after he was challenged during a search and strike operation here last week. The suspect, Mohammad Naseem, was killed instantly.

Seven policemen, including Inayatullah, and a passer-by, were injured in the hand grenade explosion. The injured policemen also included Havaldar Mohammad Shafiq, Kausar Khan, Umar Khitab, Amir Naveed and Said Rehman and a passer-by Habibullah.

Regional police officer Syed Imtiaz Shah, sector commander Brig Imtiaz Hussain and other high-ranking civil and military officers attended funeral of the martyred SHO, who was laid to rest with full official honours.
