ISLAMABAD -- The country's consumer price inflation slowed to 12.40 per cent in February 2020 as compared to the same month of last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Monday. The bureau had recorded the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation at 14.56 per cent in January, the highest in a decade. The impact of food inflation was more pronounced in rural areas than in urban centres. On a monthly basis, the urban CPI recorded a decrease of 1.09 per cent while the rural CPI recorded a decrease of 0.97 per cent.
