Industrialists complain of power, gas shortage in Gadoon estate.

SWABI -- Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry's former president Liaquat Ahmad Khan and members of the Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry said here on Wednesday that various industrial units were forced to close down in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate (GAIE) due to electricity and gas shortage and other problems in the last one month.

Briefing mediapersons about the prevailing situation in Gadoon estate, Mr Ahmad said that several textile mills and other units stopped production and had laid off workers. He said that thousands of workers were being rendered jobless due to closure of the industries.

The industrialists said that the location disadvantage and host of other issues had created a difficult situation for the entrepreneurs. He said they were expecting that the coalition government would come forward to help them to run their industry.

They said they had planned to meet with Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar and other leaders to apprise them of the problems being faced by the Gadoon estate industrialists.
