Indonesian envoy urges people to people contact with Pakistan.

HYDERABAD -- Consul General (CG) of Indonesia in Karachi Totok Prianamto and other consulate officials visited Sindh University's (SU) Area Study Centre, Far East and Southeast Asia on Friday to inaugurate the newly-established 'IndoAnesian Research Desk' and explore prospects of future academic and research collaboration and enriching people-to-people contact betAween Pakistani and Indonesian counterparts.

Exchanging views with the visiting CG, SU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat said they were proud of their long-standing cordial relations with Republic of Indonesia.

The VC said he saw immense potential for both countries to enhance cooperation in education, culture, science, heritage, history, religion and arts. Universities in Pakistan, especially the SU, Jamshoro and its sister institutions housed common teaching and research institutes that could mutually benefit academics and researchers in both countries significantly.

'I am pleased to say that the SU and consulate of Indonesia have a rich record of mutual academic and cultural cooperation. We wish to develop memoranda of understanding with leading Indonesian universities through the Indonesian consulate in Karachi,' he said.

The SU Area Study Centre would be streamlining a tangible proposal to submit to Indonesian consulate for progress. 'We plan to broaden
