Incentive package for more sectors sought.

RAWALPINDI -- The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has urged the government to extend the incentive package for the construction sector to other sectors, and to formalise the healthcare, education, gems and jewellery sectors.

At a video conference on tax laws and incentives for the construction sector, RCCI President Saboor Malik said the country's economy is going through a difficult phase.

He said incentives need to be extended to other sectors to attract foreign direct investment and enhance trade activity at the national level.

Similar to the package announced for the construction sector, no source of income should be sought for a certain time period for any investments made in the industry to boost industrialisation, he said.
