Illegal buildings with weak structure ticking bomb for Karachi.

KARACHI -- Terming hundreds of thousands of multi-storied buildings with weak structures, constructed illegally, a ticking bomb for the megacity Karachi, Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor demanded to demolish them, as they are serious life threat to citizens. In a statement here Friday, he said Sindh Building Control Authority and other concerned departments instead of checking violation of building code in the megacity preferred bribery and corruption and turned the blind eye to illegal constructions in the megacity. He said the present and previous governments of Sindh are fully involved in this malpractice as they did not take action against this mafia, which made billions of rupees from this malpractice.
