Ijaz Shah, Shezra main rivals for NA-118 by-poll.

LAHORE -- Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's Ijaz Shah and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz' Shezra Mansab Ali will be major rivals in the NA-118 (Nankana Sahib-II) by-poll on April 30.

A notification issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan says there are eight candidates in the run for the seat declared as vacant by the ECP on Feb 24 when it denotified PTI chairman Imran Khan, who had won from here and six other National Assembly seats in the Oct 16, 2022 by-election.

The only former prime minister ousted from power through a constitutional vote in April last year had bagged 90,180 votes against Shezra's 78,024. Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan's Syed Afzaal Rizvi had secured 24,630 ballots then.

Both Ijaz Shah, a former army brigadier who also served as federal interior minister, and Shezra had earlier come face to face in the July 25, 2018 general election when Mr Shah claimed...
