IIUI students block Kashmir Highway.

ISLAMABAD -- Students of Islamic International University Islamabad (IIUI) belonging to Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba (IJT) on Tuesday blocked Kashmir Highway to protest the killing of a student in a recent campus violence.

The protesters burned tyres at G-9 Chowk blocking the highway for traffic and inconveniencing motorists.

They demanded the arrest of those who killed the student. The protesters raised slogans against IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai and the provost, demanding their removal.

Meanwhile, IIUI spokesperson Nasir Farid said the university would reopen on Thursday. The IIUI was closed following the students clash on Friday.
