IHC seeks PTA's reply on mobile companies' petition.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday sought reply from Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in a petition seeking licenses renewal of two local mobile companies.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah directed the respondents to submit parawise answers of the above petition.

Counsel of two local mobile companies, Hamid Khani Advocate pleaded before the bench that his client companies were issued license on May 26, 2004 for a period of 15 years. He stated that extension of license period was due right of his client.

He contended that his client companies had written a letter to PTA on March 31, 2016 requesting the department for extension of their licenses.
