IHC rejects petition seeking action against Benami accounts, tax evaders.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the plea seeking court's orders for launching action against benami accounts and tax evaders.

IHC led by Chief Justice Athar Minallah took up the case for hearing Wednesday.

The court directed the petitioner'' you have given application to FBR and now they will see it.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court application was given to FBR against Benami accounts and tax evasion but no action has been taken. The name of brother of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar is included in benami accounts holders list.

The court remarked ' this court cannot issue any order on pre-assumptions. You filed application in FBR. Now let the FBR do their job.

The counsel for petitioner told the court three applications were filed in FBR but no reply has been received from FBR.
