IGP responds to public calls made thru' complaint management system.

LAHORE -- Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar on Sunday visited the Complaint Management System (CMS), received phone calls made by complainants and gave directions on the spot to resolve their issues.

Taking action on the complaints, he issued show-cause notices to the DSPs of Khanpur, Chobara and Layyah, besides the SHOs of Zahir Peer and Mianwali city police stations for non-registration of FIRs and other irregularities.

Similarly, on the complaint of a woman regarding a fraud in Bahawalnagar, the IGP directed Bahawalpur regional police officer (RPO) to take immediate action and send him a report.

He also directed the Sahiwal district police officer (DPO) to take departmental and legal action against some police officials on the complaint of another woman.

Likewise, the DPOs of Kasur and Gujranwala have also been directed to take action against the police officials responsible for the delay in lodging FIRs.

On the call of a journalist, the IGP ordered increase in police patrol in different areas of Lahore to curb the menace of drugs sale.
