IGP orders peace measures on Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

KARACHI -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, on Tuesday directed the police that on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, effective steps should be taken for promotion of inter-faith harmony and the protection of life and property of the people at the level of district police range and zones.

The IGP said that regular consultation with religious figures and leaders should be ensured in view of arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi and a contingency plan containing foolproof security measures should be established for review and further necessary measures should be furnished.

He said that the past experiences should be kept in view while preparing the contingency plan, and such a strategy and action plan should be devised which could further boost peace for 12th Rabiul Awwal processions...
