If we will have to carryout accountability it will have to be conducted indiscriminately: Chairman NAB.

SUKKUR -- National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said on Thursday that if we will have to carryout the accountability it will have to be conducted indiscriminately. Javed Iqbal said that future of NAB is more important for him in comparison to future pf NAB officers and future of Pakistan is more important for him then the future of NAB and this is our policy. He said that no one from peon to chairman NAB has any affiliation with any party, no relation with any party and if he has any relation it is with Pakistan.

He said that the governments come and go, adding that our duty is not to destabilize any government but it is also not our duty that when interest of country comes we give priority to anyone else interest. Javed Iqbal said that we have to see affiliation with Pakistan and interest of Pakistan and see the interests of state. He said that there is difference between the government and state and state and government are two separate things. He said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, Pakistan will remain on the map of world till the Day of Judgment. He said that taking mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion "is the bureau's highest priority."

'Recovery of the looted money to [the national exchequer] from the corrupt people is the NAB's top priority,' he said, while addressing the NAB officers of Sukkur headquarters. He said that approach is not tolerable at all, adding that in past the people towards them no one could see they are today under custody of NAB or are in jail or are pleading their bail applications in different courts. Javed Iqbal said that he has directed all the DGs that if there is any threat or pressure you should say this is direction of chairman NAB.

He said that every approach and recommendation should end at the gate of NAB gate. He said that there is no need of accepting the approach and coming into pressure. He said that the NAB officials should work according to...
