'I am sure Karachiites will come to the stadium' says Asad Shafiq.

Karachi-born Asad Shafiq is confident to see people in huge numbers at National Stadium when Pakistan takes on Sri Lanka in the second Test of the three-match series from December 19.

'I am damn sure, people will come to witness Test cricket's return to the city after 10 years. Fans here love cricket madly and they are exceptional when it comes to supporting their team and players,' Asad stated while addressing reporters in an open media session on Monday at a local hotel in Karachi.

Asad said that playing cricket at home gives confidence to the payers and it also produces raw talent, inspired by their heroes playing in front of them.

'Everybody knows the importance of international cricket at home ground. Playing in front of home ground not only benefit players but also the fans in different ways,' he marked.

The right-handed batsman always finds a way to fill in his role in the team being a senior player. 'I think my role in itself is a challenge for me and I try to take everything positively. I try to play according to whatever role is given to me,' he said.

Talking about Pindi's washed out Test match, Asad said that they are looking forward to the next match. 'I think what happened is past. We are strongly preparing ourselves for Karachi's Test, I hope a strong contest awaits the cricket fans,' he concluded.

'Spin bowling coach in team management will be a plus point' says Yasir

Pakistan's leg-spinner Yasir Shah thinks that having Mushtaq Ahmed as a regular spin-bowling coach instead of a consultant will be a plus point for the team.

'If Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) can take work from him [Mushtaq] in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) then why not as a regular coach. I think it is their decision but his presence with us regularly will help us,' he said while talking in an open media session at a local hotel on Monday ahead of second and last Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Karachi.

'There is no doubt that bowling coach Waqar Younis worked with me a lot. He knows the game well but as far as Mushtaq is concerned, as a spinner himself, knows things better,' Yasir added.
