'Hitman' held for targeted killing of KMC official.

KARACHI -- Police and Rangers arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the recent murder of a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation official in a joint raid in New Karachi.

They identified the suspect as Mohammed Shakir alias Dheela.

During an initial probe, the held suspect 'confessed' to have killed Muhammad Ali, a KMC clerk, in an armed attack on the office of the anti-encroachment department at Jubilee Chowk within the remit of the Nabi Bux police station on May 30.

City SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar in a statement said the held suspect was a 'hitman', who was arrested with the help of CCTV footage.

'He belonged to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London,' he claimed.

He disclosed that the suspect along with his accomplices had killed Ali allegedly on the directions of KMC Inspector Ibrahim alias Topi.
