Hindus celebrate Diwali in Attock.

TAXILA -- Like other parts of the country, the Hindu community in Attock also celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, on Sunday.

To mark the day, the Hindu community lit earthen lamps to commemorate the return of Lord Rama.

In this regard, a special gathering was held at the only temple of Attock.

Special sermons were delivered, preaching love and peace while prayers were offered for prosperity of Pakistan. Sweets and meals were distributed among all community members.

On the occasion, houses of Hindu people in several neighbourhoods across Attock, especially in the cantonment area, were decorated with colourful lights, flowers and trinkets.

Talking to mediapersons on this occasion, Pandit Sarwan Kumar and Roop Lal said this festival was celebrated to remember the sacrifices of Shri Ram Chandar Jee who spent almost 14 years in forests and preached Hinduism.
