HEC Advises Students to First Verify Announcements Received on WhatsApp and Social Media.

Islamabad -- The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has advised the students to be very careful in believing information received through WhatsApp and other social media forums, and always verify HEC related information from its website www.hec.gov.pk or authentic social media pages that are linked to it.

It has been observed and reported that some miscreants, pretending to be from HEC website, are busy in circulating fake information and images on WhatsApp and other social media forums, regarding different HEC programmes and policies.

For example, some fake social media pages have announced Phase-II of the Ehsaas Scholarship Scheme for university students, which is not the case.
