THIS is apropos the recently advertised posts in Higher Education Commission (HEC).

While it is heartening for many who are nearing 65 years and are denied extensions in their home institutions or denied jobs in others, there are different aspects that need to be closely looked into.

Is the age of superannuation beyond 80 years? Because if someone is recruited at the age of 80 that person would work for at least four years (if not more), that is till the age of 85 or even 90!

Why is the age limit for executive director between 40 and 60 years? If we are looking for 10 to 15 years experience for a 21-year-old, we need to look into our school system. A meritorious and extraordinary student will complete his SSC at the age of 14, HSSC at 16, BS at 20.
