Health counters being set up at shelter homes.

RAWALPINDI -- Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood on Tuesday ordered establishment of health counters at Shelter Homes in Rawalpindi Division.

The health counters to be established in all the shelter homes in four districts of Rawalpindi division will provide medical treatment to homeless people suffering from fever and cold.

The commissioner has directed all deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of Rawalpindi Division to patrol their areas and shift homeless people present on roads and streets to Panahgahs set up in their jurisdiction.

He gave these instructions at a meeting held to review arrangements at Panahgahs. He said food menu of Panahgahs should be managed keeping in view weather conditions.

He also issued instruction to make special heating arrangements at Panahgahs, besides carrying out medical check-up of all people staying there.

The commissioner said capacity of Panahgahs should be improved and if existing facilities ran out of space, temporary arrangements should be made to provide shelter to homeless.
