Harassment of business community wouldn't be allowed: DG Excise and Taxation Sindh.

KARACHI -- Director General Excise, Taxation and Narcotics control Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui has clarified that no one would be permitted to harass business community, only the provided documents as per the company category would be enough to evaluate professional tax. He was addressing a meeting at Korangi Association of Trade and Industry(KATI) here on Thursday. President of KATI Sheikh UmerRehan, Chairman and CEO KITE ZubairChhaya, Senior Vice President Muhammad Ikram Rajput, Vice President Syed Wajid Hussain and others also addressed that occasion. The DG said that Sindh was the first province which digitalized its taxation and excise systems and for cess payments there is no need to contact any one from the concern departments all the collection system are digitalized. He said that for the collection of professional tax only the documents provided as per the company category would be enough for evaluation,

nobody can ask any details regarding profit or any other thing. He said that to facilitate the members of KATI regarding professional and property taxation issue a senior officer will be designated as focal person. He also told that an mobile application for tax, excise and other payments would be available in coming months. Prior to this President KATI Sheikh UmerRehan mentioned that Government of Sindh collects 1.25 pc infrastructure cess from industry on import goods and the amount reaches to Rs 70 billion annually.
