Haleem writes to CJP over 'grave threat' to life.

KARACHI -- Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial highlighting a 'grave threat' to his life, allegedly by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership.

In his letter addressed to the Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice as well, Sheikh said there were 'immediate and serious threats' to his life and he wanted 'immediate and appropriate' action from quarters concerned.

According to the PTI leader, he had been receiving threats since the day he took oath as the opposition leader of Sindh. He alleged that former president Asif Ali Zardari, his son Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, and Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah tried to harm his life and reputation through their frontmen multiple times. The MPA said the government also filed 'fake cases' against him.

The provincial opposition leader said the government wanted to prevent him from attending the budget session and that's why it had ramped up action against him. '...they have filed various baseless cases against me and have raided my home multiple times. It is important to note that one SHO who conducted these raids and harassed my family was himself a criminal absconder being tried for murder,' the letter alleged.
