Growers reject power plant on Chashma Jhelum Link Canal.

HYDERABAD -- Sindh Abadgar Board, a representative body of growers of province has rejected construction of power plant on Chashma Jhelum Link Canal and has demanded to cancel its NOC. SAB delegation called on GDA general secretary Ayaz Latif Palijo who is also president of Qaumi Awami Tehrik and submitted issues and problems connected with agriculture. Delegation comprised Muhammad Javed Riyar, Muhammad Anwer, Mohib Mari and others. Ayaz Latif Palijo assured delegation that Grand Democratic Alliance was with growers and peasants of Sindh. He said voice on problems of agriculture would be raised in and outside assemblies by his alliance.

SAI presented following issues: sugarcane price be fixed before crushing season; procurement price of wheat be fixed at Rs.1500 per 40 kilograms in place of 1300 and that subsidy like that at Punjab be allowed to growers of Sindh; Sindh government this year...
