Govt withdraws plea seeking cancellation of Shahbaz Gill's bail.

ISLAMABAD -- The federal government on Wednesday withdrew a plea seeking the cancellation of bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill, media reported.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial held an in-chamber hearing on Gill's bail plea. Advocate Rizwan Abbasi represented the federal government and filed a petition for the withdrawal on the Centre's behalf.

Advocate Abbassi said that Gill had repeated his crime again, for which a new case has been registered against him, and that an application for the cancellation of his bail would be made on the relevant forum.

The apex court approved the federal government's request.
