Govt willing to call Senate session if opposition supports its legislation: Swati.

ISLAMABAD -- Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Khan Swati Thursday said the government was ready to call the session of the Senate if the opposition would support its legislation on public welfare.

While responding to the statements of the opposition, he said the opposition should respect the democratic institutions and their traditions.

The government values the democratic principles and invites opposition to work with it in the Senate.

He said the activities of the opposition were aimed at undermining the process of accountability.

He said opposition would not be allowed to create a constitutional crisis in the country and put aside other issues of national importance.

If opposition would ignore, the reforms agenda of the government then it would be useless to call a session of the Senate...
