Govt urged to set up boys college in Bisham.

SHANGLA -- The youth of Maira, Dandai and Batkot union councils of Bisham tehsil have demanded of the higher education department to establish a boys college in building of the non-functional government girls' degree college, Maira.

They said that the girls college remained non-functional since completion of the building in January 2017.

The demand came during a meeting of local youth of the three union councils and later they held a meeting with provincial minister for labour Shaukat Yousafzai in this regard.

They said the girls' college was approved by the former government of PTI for Butyal area, but due to unavailability of land there the same was built in Maira area. However, it remained non-functional and its condition had deteriorated over last three years.

Rehman Iqbal, a resident, claimed the provincial government was planning to declare the girls college as a tourist facilitation centre which would be an injustice with the area people.
